About UserVoice

What is UserVoice?

UserVoice is a customer intelligence platform. Teams capture feedback from customers and customer-facing colleagues, analyze it with account and revenue context, and take action while keeping customers informed. Every signal stays connected to the customer behind it, so decisions rest on evidence.

What is a customer intelligence platform?

A customer intelligence platform unifies customer signals such as feedback, requests and CRM data, then connects them to accounts and revenue. Business intelligence tells you what happened. Customer intelligence helps explain why, and what customer demand means for retention, expansion and prioritization.

Who is UserVoice for?

UserVoice is built for B2B teams that need one view of what customers want and what it is worth. Product managers and feedback managers use it daily to capture, triage and prioritize. Customer success and revenue teams use it to see what their accounts are asking for.

Which companies use UserVoice?

UserVoice lists Amazon Alexa, Adobe, Cisco, Intuit, Electronic Arts, Humana, GoDaddy, Box, PandaDoc, Dropbox DocSend and Weave among the companies that trust it.

How is UserVoice different from a feature voting board?

A voting board counts how many people asked. UserVoice also shows who asked, which accounts they belong to and how much revenue sits behind a request. You can segment voters by plan, account or other traits, so the loudest users do not set the roadmap by default.

5 questions

Capturing feedback

How does UserVoice capture feedback?

UserVoice captures feedback wherever customers share it: a branded web portal, an in-app widget, and the feedback extension and Slack for internal teams. Existing history comes in by CSV import. The customer and account stay attached from intake onward.

What is a UserVoice feedback portal?

A UserVoice web portal is a customer-facing site where your users submit ideas and vote on existing suggestions, organized into forums by product or topic. Supporters are subscribed to status updates, so they hear when a request moves forward.

Can we collect feedback inside our product?

Yes. The UserVoice widget lets users post ideas from inside your product, and you can pass user and account traits through it, so in-app feedback keeps the person and account behind each request.

Can sales, success and support teams add feedback?

Yes. The UserVoice feedback extension lets customer-facing teams highlight a customer's words, match them to an existing idea or create a new one, and record who said it. Teams can also capture feedback from Slack, or ask the UserVoice agent to log it.

Can we bring existing feedback into UserVoice?

Yes. Import ideas, voters and feedback from CSV files with UserVoice's import templates, so you start with real history. The Admin API supports custom imports.

4 questions

Analysis and prioritization

How does UserVoice connect feedback to revenue?

Connect Salesforce or sync account traits, and UserVoice enriches feedback with account data such as segment, industry and revenue, then aggregates it by account. You can answer questions like what enterprise accounts are requesting, or what churned accounts were missing.

How does UserVoice help teams prioritize?

UserVoice brings feedback and account context onto your roadmap. Add custom fields such as impact or effort, segment by users and accounts, and build scores to rank features. The decision stays with product leaders, backed by customer evidence.

How does UserVoice use AI to find themes?

Ask the UserVoice agent an analytical question and it reads the ideas in scope, including customer comments, then groups related ideas into pain-based themes. Each theme comes with a pain statement, its impact and a verbatim customer quote. Every number is calculated from your database.

Does UserVoice analyze sentiment?

Yes. UserVoice sentiment analysis reads idea titles, descriptions, feedback and comments, and rates each item's urgency on a scale of 1 to 5, so you can sort and filter the idea grid by what needs attention first.

3 questions

Taking action and closing the loop

How does UserVoice close the feedback loop?

Update an idea's public status and everyone who supports it is notified, so customers see their request was heard and acted on. You can also email all subscribed supporters on an idea and keep their replies in UserVoice.

Does UserVoice support roadmaps?

Yes. Build roadmaps that show priorities and the customer data behind them, and keep separate roadmaps for different audiences. Share a roadmap internally, or publicly, and use public idea statuses to show customers where their requests stand.

Does UserVoice connect to Jira and Azure DevOps?

Yes. Link UserVoice ideas and features to Jira issues and epics, or to Azure DevOps work items. Each system shows the linked item's status, so product and engineering stay in sync.

8 questions

The UserVoice agent

What is the UserVoice agent?

The UserVoice agent is an AI assistant inside the UserVoice admin console, included in our new modern plans. Ask natural-language questions about your ideas, accounts, users and themes, and it answers from your live UserVoice data with written summaries and clickable tables.

What can I ask the UserVoice agent?

Ask about demand, customers and status in plain language: top requests by revenue, what a named account is asking for, which themes are growing, or why customers want a feature. Follow up without restating context. Starter prompts help you begin.

What data can the UserVoice agent access?

The agent works across your ideas, accounts and users in UserVoice, including comments, internal notes, CRM fields synced into your accounts and custom account fields. It does not query Salesforce or HubSpot directly, and revenue fields need the revenue permission.

Can the UserVoice agent make changes?

Yes, if your admin account has write access. The agent can capture feedback, organize ideas into lists and labels, triage status and owners, and clean up duplicates. It shows a confirmation card first, and nothing changes until you confirm.

Which AI model powers the UserVoice agent?

The UserVoice agent is powered by OpenAI models, and UserVoice updates the model as better ones become available. The agent is fully tenant-isolated, so it can only query data from your UserVoice instance and cannot access other customers' data.

Can I export what the UserVoice agent finds?

Yes. Every table the agent shows can be copied or downloaded as a CSV, and idea tables can be saved as a list. Exports include every row, not only the page you are viewing.

Are UserVoice agent conversations private?

Yes. Conversations are saved automatically and are private to you. Other admins cannot see them. You can resume, rename or delete past chats.

Which admins can use the UserVoice agent?

What each admin can do follows their admin role. Full-access admins can ask questions and confirm changes. View-only admins can ask anything and see everything, but change nothing.

UserVoice MCP for Claude, ChatGPT and Codex

What is UserVoice MCP?

UserVoice MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that lets you query and update your UserVoice data from an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex in natural language. It is included in our new modern plans.

Which AI assistants work with UserVoice MCP?

Claude (claude.ai, the desktop app and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Codex and GitHub Copilot Chat in Visual Studio Code. UserVoice supports Client ID Metadata Documents (CIMD), the client registration method the MCP specification recommends, so you never enter a client ID or secret.

How do I connect UserVoice to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex?

Add UserVoice as a connector in your AI assistant using your MCP server URL, then sign in with your UserVoice admin login and approve access. Each person authorizes with their own account. The Help Center has step-by-step setup for each assistant.

What can an AI assistant do in UserVoice through MCP?

Read tools let the assistant search and aggregate ideas and look up accounts, users, labels and lists. Write tools let it create ideas and feedback, add voters, update status, labels and owners, manage lists, and merge duplicates. Your connector always lists the current tools.

Is UserVoice MCP secure?

Yes. Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, so the assistant never sees your UserVoice password. The assistant acts with exactly the permissions of the admin who signed in, each person authorizes individually, and access can be revoked any time by disconnecting.

Can view-only admins use UserVoice MCP?

Yes. MCP follows each admin's permissions. View-only admins can use MCP to search ideas and look up accounts and users. Write actions, such as creating feedback or merging ideas, need a full-access admin.

What is the difference between the UserVoice agent, MCP and the Admin API?

The UserVoice agent works inside the UserVoice admin console. MCP brings UserVoice into external AI assistants through a standard protocol. The Admin API gives developers programmatic access for custom integrations and data workflows. All three use your UserVoice data and permissions.

Is UserVoice priced per seat?

Only full-access admins count toward your plan. Contributors do not count, and view-only admins and portal users are unlimited in our new modern plans. See the pricing page for details.

What is the difference between full-access and view-only admins?

A full-access admin can change feedback, statuses, labels and settings, and can use the agent and MCP to make changes. A view-only admin can see everything and ask the agent or MCP anything, but cannot merge, move, delete or change status.

Which UserVoice plans include the UserVoice agent and MCP?

All of our new modern plans include the UserVoice agent, UserVoice MCP and the API. Full-access admins can make changes, and view-only admins can ask questions.

Integrations

What does UserVoice integrate with?

UserVoice integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Azure DevOps, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk and Gainsight, among others, and connects to Claude, ChatGPT and Codex through MCP. The Help Center has setup guides.

Does UserVoice integrate with Salesforce and HubSpot?

Yes. Map your Salesforce fields into UserVoice and every idea and account is enriched with CRM data, so you can see what each segment is asking for. HubSpot and other systems can sync account traits. The agent and MCP can filter on these synced fields.

Does UserVoice work with Gainsight?

Yes, as an add-on. Customer success teams see their accounts' ideas and status updates directly in Gainsight, and a health score and renewal report groups feedback by account health and upcoming renewals.

Does UserVoice have an API?

Yes. The UserVoice Admin API lets developers work with UserVoice data programmatically to build custom integrations and data workflows. Create a trusted API key in the admin console to get started. Full reference docs live at developer.uservoice.com.

4 questions

Security and compliance

Is UserVoice SOC 2 and GDPR compliant?

Yes. UserVoice maintains a SOC 2 Type II certification covering the Security, Availability and Confidentiality of its system, and is GDPR compliant, with a signed DPA available. Current and prospective customers can request reports by emailing compliance at uservoice.com.

How does UserVoice protect customer data?

UserVoice encrypts data at rest with at least AES-256 and in transit with at least TLS 1.3, and encrypts individual PII elements within database records. Systems are monitored around the clock, and access is logged centrally.

How does UserVoice keep AI access governed?

UserVoice AI stays inside the access you already have. The agent is tenant-isolated and respects admin permissions, including the revenue permission. Through MCP, assistants act with exactly the permissions of the signed-in admin, and each person authorizes individually.

Does UserVoice support single sign-on?

Yes. Add single sign-on to the admin console or restrict your web portal with SAML, OpenID Connect or OAuth 2.0, and automate user provisioning with SCIM. The same SSO sign-in works when you connect UserVoice to an AI assistant.

6 questions

Comparing your options

How should we evaluate a customer feedback or customer intelligence platform?

Score each platform on six points: which sources it captures, whether it attaches account and CRM context, whether AI answers trace back to source feedback, security and permissions, how it closes the loop with customers, and how pricing scales. Test each point on your own data.

Should we build our own feedback tool or buy one?

Buy, unless feedback collection is a feature you sell or your needs are too specialized for any configurable platform. The first version is the cheap part. Integrations, security reviews and loop-closing work keep arriving every year after launch.

What are the alternatives to UserVoice?

Teams evaluating UserVoice often also look at Canny, Enterpret, Productboard, Pendo, Aha!, Featurebase, Frill, Savio and Unwrap.ai. UserVoice publishes a side-by-side page for each. The right fit depends on your sources, account context, AI needs, security review and budget.

How does UserVoice compare with Canny?

Both offer feedback portals, voting and AI features. UserVoice centers on customer intelligence: account and revenue context from your CRM, AI themes with source evidence, an in-product AI agent and enterprise security. Teams switching can import ideas and voters by CSV.

How does UserVoice compare with Enterpret?

Both connect customer feedback to the accounts and revenue behind it, and both offer AI analysis. UserVoice pairs that analysis with branded feedback portals, voting, public idea statuses and supporter notifications, so customers can see progress.

How does UserVoice compare with Productboard?

Productboard describes itself as an agentic product management system for product makers. UserVoice focuses on customer intelligence: capturing feedback from customers and customer-facing teams, connecting it to accounts and revenue, and closing the loop with customers.
